The all-new MSD Atomic Air Force Camaro SS intake manifold delivers improved airflow and distribution to improve the performance of stock and modified engines. The unique bell-mouthed runner entrances maximize airflow and minimize shrouding - all while optimizing the available plenum volume for an unobstructed flow path over opposing runners. The polymer molded 2-piece LT1 intake manifold design allows for easy access to the runners for porting.

The unique bell-mouthed runner entrances maximize airflow and minimize shrouding - all while optimizing the available plenum volume for an unobstructed flow path over opposing runners. The polymer molded 2-piece LT1 intake manifold design allows for easy access to the runners for porting.

The Atomic AirForce LT1 intake manifold accepts OEM Drive-By-Wire (DBW) and aftermarket Big-Bore DBW throttle bodies – as well as cable operated throttle bodies. Auxiliary fuel rails and port injectors may also be fitted for applications where the capacity of the stock Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) system has been exceeded. The intake is supplied with new OEM-style bolts, but the use of new OEM-style intake port seals is required.

MSD is not a newcomer to the aftermarket ignition system industry, having gotten its start back in 1970 and now part of the prestigious HOLLEY family, the recognized leader in the fuel system market for more than one hundred years and repeatedly represented in the most eminent races in the racing world. The company had it start in research and development attempting to create a lean burn fuel system that they named the ELECTRASONIC FUEL INDUCTION SYSTEM and they were hoping that with this they would be able to improve fuel economy but there was a problem with this discovery. The new system was too lean and it could not be ignited by the existing electronic ignitions and that led to the decision to start thinking about an entirely new ignition system using capacitive discharge that used capacitor discharge current to the coil to fire the spark plugs, originally designed to eliminate the long charging times required by high inductance coils. MSD used the problem at hand as an opportunity utilizing the capacitive discharge’s ability to spark multiple times, they designed primo ignitions using the high energy spark from the capacitive discharge to ignite their previously developed lean fuel mixture concurrently improving the engine in a multiplicity of other ways; such as better starting, smoother idle, less emissions and more power and thus started MSD on the road to success. Rather than being discouraged by their original problem and giving up they looked on it as a challenge and now can tout the fact that they are the ignition of choice of the top professional drivers in a potpourri of racing venues. MSD has grown over the years not only in reputation but in size as well with over four hundred employees and a top-of-the-line facility of more than one hundred fifty thousand square feet but they have never lost sight of their original goal to make your car’s engine perform better whether you are driving on the street or on the track.
