Spohn Performance's tubular k-member for the 1982-1992 F-Body Camaro and Firebird sets a new, higher standard of performance and quality. When we designed our k-member, we had several goals in mind.

One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, another was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle.

Our k-member provides substantial weight savings and frees up a lot of room in the engine bay for our drag race customers, but it also provides the strength, rigidity, and durability for our road race, autox, and daily driver customers as well..... all in one package!

This tubular k-member is designed to be used with the stock style steering set-up.

Spohn's tubular k-member features boxed a-arm mounts for maximum rigidity and side load support. Our k-members are gusseted in critical areas to ensure that a weld never breaks. They decrease overall weight, and provide much more room for large tube headers, turbo systems, etc.

Our k-member will accept stock a-arms, or for additional weight loss and performance enhancement we also offer tubular a-arms.

K-members are available set up for stock style coil springs or in a coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch for additional weight savings. Our jig was built around the factory k-member providing for an exact fit and factory exact dimensions.

Every detail of the factory k-member was incorporated, including brake line mounts (there's no zip tying of the brake lines with our k-member) and optional front k-member brace mounts.

Options- Select your options in the drop down option boxes above:

  • Spring Type: K-members are available set up for a stock style coil spring, or in a coil-over version that eliminates the upper spring perch.
  • Motor Mount Pads: K-members are available with no motor mount pads for those who will be using a motor plate, or with mounting pads that will accept standard small block, big block, LT1 or 3.8L V-6 motor mounts. Note: If you will be using any block mounted motor mounts then you must get the motor mount pads installed on the k-member. The motor mount pads are what the block mounted motor mounts bolt fast to on the k-member.
  • Front Brace Mounts: We provide the option of having front k-member brace mounts installed. All 1986-1992 cars were factory equipped with a triangular brace on each side of the front of the k-member to reinforce the front subframe at the steering box mount. These braces reduce flex and cracking of the front subframe and are a recommended addition for any street driven car. If you own a 1982-1985 car that was not factory equipped with the k-member braces, we also offer new triangular braces, make your choice.
  • 4130N Upgrade: The ultimate in bullet-proof lightweight strength, 4130N chrome moly tubing construction! Same as above, but constructed from 1.50 x .083 and 1.25 x .095 4130N chrome moly tubing.

And for you Camaro racing aficionados who want to avoid torque steer and body roll at the starting line SPOHN developed the Pro-Drag racer anti roll sway bar that is much bigger in diameter and considerably stronger because it is manufactured with solid 4140 heat treated spring grade chrome moly steel coined as one piece and installation is a breeze with the bolt in installation. Another example of SPOHN’s innovation and thought to customer needs is the SPOHN Manual Rack & Pinion Kit that, unlike others, does not require you to have your spindle hole drilled out for the rod end to spindle adapters, and because it weighs considerably less than your car’s factory heavy power steering rack, pup and shed you will give yourself an extra edge on the track or in other performance driving venues.
