Quality and safety are undoubtedly necessary in a suspension system and GE Engineer Claude Pemberton and Oldsmobile Toronado developer Don Perkins recognized this was essential in a car’s suspension system so they took it upon themselves in 1949 to correct the then problem of sagging springs. The success of full air suspension in mini-trucks offered Air Lift yet another opportunity to introduce a product that was second to none with compressor system technology, air springs and air struts.
