The KW Variant 1 Coilover System is the ideal system for customers wishing to rely on the experience of our engineers for dampening yet determine their own degree of lowering. In extensive driving tests our engineers have set the dampers for the best balance between sporty driving, comfort and safety.
Continuous loweringWith the KW coilover Variant 1 you can achieve maximum lowering in the tested adjustment range. Depending on vehicle model this varies between 30 to 70mm or 50 to 90mm. Even after years you can adjust the height quickly and easily due to the dirt resistant trapezoid thread and composite collar. Lowering at the front axle is made using our one piece composite height adjuster, on the rear axle this is the same unless the car has a seperate spring and shock absorber. The supplied rear height adjuster sits either above or below the rear spring.

As a an enthusiastic car owner you already know that your car’s suspension system is a multiplicity of things including the tires, tire air, springs, shock absorbers, struts, anti-sway bars and linkages and that the job of the suspension system is to support road handling as well as ride quality. In order to accomplish these goals you need a suspension system that accomplishes the task of keeping your car’s wheels on the road where they belong, smoothing out your ride, keeping your car under your control and protecting your car by limiting the impact of unfavorable road conditions. As an extra bonus the right suspension system can provide a more comfortable ride for you and your passengers and can protect cargo you may be carrying. So needless to say you do not want a suspension system that has worn components but you might also want an aftermarket suspension component that helps to enhance your car’s performance. Although KW automotive was started as a small company in 1992 it quickly grew through innovations like the KW coilover suspension born in 1996 and they have been on a forward track ever since. But being content with what they have already accomplished is not the way of KW and for this reason KW introduced the first suspension control unit for vehicles with standard air suspension that can be continually lowered by use of a smartphone application.
